Summer Excavation Camp to Foster Tomorrow’s Specialists in Buried Cultural Heritage

Fifty Archaeological-Talents Participated and Successfully Completed the Program

In collaboration with the Korean Archaeological Society(KAS), the NRICH organized the “2023 Summer Excavation Camp” from June 21 to July 7, with the objective of nurturing future archaeological experts. This year marked the third edition of the Summer Excavation Camp, drawing the participation of 50 students specializing in archaeology from 23 universities nationwide. During the camp, students received hands-on experience at excavation sites and comprehensive theoretical training in archaeology, covering topics like excavation policies and systems as well as archeological research techniques. The NRICH is committed to maintaining active collaboration with academia, including the KAS, to cultivate proficient cultural heritage researchers.
